Precautions
Antacids can interfere with the absorption of iron preparations and/or tetracyclines. Should not be taken for more than 2 weeks, or if symptoms recur, unless otherwise directed by a physician. Should not be taken within 2hours of another medication, because the effectiveness of other medications may be altered.

Overdose
Symptoms and Treatment:   Massive doses are unlikely to produce more than a mild gastrointestinal upset.

Recommended Dosage
Gelusil: 10 to 20mL of liquid or 2to 4tablets 4times daily, between meals and at bedtime as required to relieve symptoms and promote recovery. Tablets should be chewed. May be used diluted with water to make a 25% solution and administered at the rate of18drops per minute as a continuous gastric or duodenal drip for hospitalized patients.

Gelusil: Liquid:  Each 5mL of viscous, white, peppermint-flavored liquid contains: magnesium hydroxide 200mg and the equivalent of 200mg dried aluminum hydroxide gel (153mg aluminum hydroxide). Nonmedicinal ingredients: calcium cyclamate, citric acid, flavor, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, menthol, parabens, peppermint oil, simethicone, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sorbitol, water and xanthan gum. Energy: 4.6kJ (1.1kcal). Sodium: <1mmol (0.84mg)/5mL. Gluten-, lactose-, sucrose-, sulfite- and tartrazine-free. Bottles of 350mL.
