Alkalosis; hypermagnesemia; where distention may be due to partial or complete intestinal obstruction. Not recommended for severely debilitated patients or those with impaired renal function.

Safety Information / Warning
Do not take more than 16tablets or 80mL during a 24-hour period. Do not take for more than 2weeks or if symptoms recur, unless directed by a physician. Do not take if you suffer from kidney disease, except on your physician's advice. Do not take within 2hours of another medicine, because the effectiveness of the medicine may be altered. Antacids can interfere with the absorption of iron preparations and/or tetracyclines.

Magnesium salts, in the presence of renal insufficiency, may cause CNS depression. Aluminum hydroxide, in the presence of low phosphorus diets, may cause phosphorus deficiency. Aluminum salts tend to cause constipation. Do not administer concomitantly with tetracycline antibiotics or iron preparations.

Recommended Dosage
Adults: 10to 20mL of suspension, or 2to4tablets taken 4times a day 20to60minutes after meals and at bedtime or as directed by the physician. Suspension may be taken undiluted or with water. Tablets may be chewed or sucked.

Diovol Plus: Suspension: Each 5mL of white to off-white, peppermint or tropical-fruit-flavored suspension with a milky appearance contains: aluminum hydroxide (as aluminum hydroxide compressed gel) 165mg, magnesium hydroxide 200mg and simethicone 25mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: alcohol (<1%), calcium cyclamate, D&C Yellow10 (fruit-flavored suspension), flavor, guar gum, hydrogen peroxide, parabens and sorbitol. Energy: 7.1kJ (1.7kcal)/5mL. Sodium: <1mmol (<1mg)/5mL. Sucrose- and tartrazine-free. pH: 7.5to 8.5. Bottles of350and 100mL Hospital Pack. Protect from freezing.
