Sialor (Anetholtrithion)

How do you rate this drug's effectiveness?

Pharmacology
In addition to its choleretic activity, anetholtrithion has a positive effect on drug-induced asialias which may be due to the drug's direct action on the secretory cells of the salivary glands.

Approximately 30% of an orally administered dose is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, with 80% being excreted in the urine and the remainder in the bile.

In man, the average amounts of anetholtrithion recovered as the free p-hydroxyphenyltrithione metabolite or its o-glucuronide are 1.5to 3% and 12%, respectively. The yellow coloration of the urine resulting from anetholtrithion ingestion is due to the presence of the two metabolites.
